André established his own design business in 1994, working for a broad-based clientele. He continues his work on insect illustration for which, as a student, he was commissioned by the Veterinary Research Institute, Transvaal Museum and the University of Pretoria.
In recent years he was commissioned by Philately Department of the South African post office to create artwork for postage stamps and completed five bird series and a butterfly series of works.
